Brackish Water Oyster Farming (Crassostrea spp.)

Culture Methods

Rack & Tray Method: Wooden racks with suspended trays for grow-out
Stake Method: Bamboo or wooden poles driven into mudflats
Raft Culture: Floating bamboo or PVC rafts with hanging ropes
Bottom Culture: Direct placement on intertidal mudflats

Production Cycle

Spat Collection: 2-3 months using oyster shells or collectors

Harvest by hand or lifting racks/ropes
Washing and depuration (purging in clean water)
